I have a new home everyone!!

See you over there!!
Making permanent lifestyle changes in college and beyond
We all do it, whether we want to or not.
I needed to gain weight a few weeks ago, which I have and I feel great and health although as you can imagine it's been a little hard to adjust.
The other night I was lying in bed after having one too many spoonfuls of cashew butter straight out of the jar thinking, why would you do that? I hate myself, I hate my body. Then I stopped... I HATE MY BODY?! After it ran 11 miles for me on Saturday? Well that is just wrong.
Ever since I've put needed weight back on, my ED side has been fat talking in full force. For real ED? After everything else you've put me through now this? So very rude.
We're told to "fight" fat talk, put it down, don't let it creep into your life, don't let others do it around you. But how? How do you knock down that deeply embedded voice in your head telling you you're not good enough?
Athlete's cannot hate their body. Our bodies do too much for us.
What I needed to do was replace the behavior. Now every time I was to say I hate my body I say, for some shallow reason that the world has instilled in me I don't feel like I look good. But I am a strong runner and not everyone can say that!
This morning I had planned on a random bike workout but I ended up doing 15 minutes of random and 45 minutes of intervals with a 5 minute cool down.
I'm out of peta =(. So before I had some whole wheat toast with laughing cow and fruit spread
Breakfast was a yogurt bowl with banana, blueberries, raw oats, kashi honey sunshine, cashew and almond butter and honey drizzle.
Peace!
Caitlin
How do you fight fat talk?
Do you read beauty magazines or do you avoid them?
I've mentioned in a few other posts that I am taking a class this semester called Contemporary Food Movements. As a vegetarian and self proclaimed foodie I love the topics that we study in this course, however much of the reading does cause a certain amount of indignation.
Today I read an article about corporation organic food. Many organic companies that began as grass roots and local have been bought by large corporations that continue the homegrown story in order to sell products. For instance, Kashi is actually owned by Kellogs, Cascadian Farms by Gerneral Mills, Horizon Organic by Dean's and Odwalla by none other that Coca Cola.
Personally, I don't think this information will change the way I shop though it may cause a bit of guilt knowing that the family farm story on my box of cereal is a straight lie.
For lunch I wanted to try a little something new with my salad
Spinach, raw tofu, cucus, mushrooms, apple, raisins and walnuts with white wine vin and garlic salt. Delicious! I also had a chewy kashi bar... ironically.
And got some great mail today!! 26 oz of almond butter (I was NOT about to go a whole month without it, sorry) and the new and my first Clean Eating magazine... I love today.
Due to my mail, snack was a given
And for dinner I made a ROCKING sandwich. Whole wheat pita with hummus, string cheese, tomato sauce, green olives and italian seasoning.
Like a Mediterranean pita pizza pocket, so good! Plus some steamed broc on the side.
Currently enjoying some PB toast and raisins and maybe a handful of cereal for dessert, see you tomorrow beautiful people!
Peace!

What's more important to you, local or organic?
This is what I've been seeing out of my window this whole month so far =(
It's ok though, I just pretend I'm this guy =)
I know I'm a little late on April goals but the first Monday of the month is a pretty legit time too!
1) Do not get Injured: I've been having some shin pain recently and this morning woke up and something is off about my hip. I'm not sure what's going on with me but I am not going to prolong any kind of potential injury.
2) Keep up the Yoga: I've been doing really well making it to class once a week, I want to keep it up!
3)Post more workouts: Fairly self explanatory, I want to share more of how I gym with you all!
4) Listen to my body: Way too much mindless late night snacking for not reason has ensued over the past few weeks, I'm want to break the habit like yesterday.
5)USE FOOD!!!: The semester is almost over and I could feed the whole campus... help!
This morning due to my healing cold and hip I could have run but did not. I started but realized it would have just been a super slow, boring 3 miles and I wasn't trying to further any pain on junk miles.
Instead I hit up the ET for 34 minutes (5 miles). I put it on random and did reverse intervals every other song. I normally don't spend more than 15 minutes on the ET... how do you people do it?! It was a great tough workout but I was BORED TO DEATH!
I then did 40 minutes of full body weights and core, I went lighter high reps today except for dead-lifts... 20 LBS IN EACH HAND BABY!
Breakfast... I'm officially out of Barney butter *too many tears*
In this mix
1/3 cup oats
1 packet carnation instant breakfast (I thought I'd experiment because it tastes more chocolaty than protein powder... I like both!)
~3/4 cup skim milk
1 heaping tbsp chia seeds
1 truvia packet
topped with banana, dried cherries and ground flax
Barney butter, chia, chocolate goodness <3 <3
Plus the elixir of life. Off to pack lunch and homework!
Peace!
Caitlin
How has your April been so far?
What's your fave salad combo? I need some lunch inspiration...
Want to come help me eat all of my food before the semester ends?
*If you are a Beloit student who happens to be reading this, please contact me via facebook or my school e-mail*
Take two parts oatmeal
For breakfast and lunch
One part 3 hour nap
One part netflix instant watch
Every foodie should watch this movie... prepare to be insanely jealous
One english paper draft (very optional)
One thousand plus cups of green tea with lemon
100000000 bottles of water
1 yoga class (if you're feeling well enough, which I was!)
2 rounds of neti pot
I am already feeling SO much better than this morning! Still super tired but an early bedtime should clear that right up! I also got my taste for veggies back! YAY!
pre-yoga toast w/ cashew butter
Dinner hummus, cucs, dijon and spinach in a whole wheat tortilla
steamed cauliflower, carrots and ketchup on the side
dessert was this x3... I should NOT be allowed to keep my favorite cereal around.
I've also realized I didn't set any April goals!! Well I did in my head but I need to tell you all... in the morning =).
Peace!
Caitlin
What's your favorite cereal?
What are some of your April goals, inspire me!
AHHHHHHH!
Apparently this is what 12 hours of sleep with a cold looks like in the morning... who knew?
I was GOING to go out last night. I showered, put on make up and an outfit... and then started to feel like poo. I guess the 11 miles while trying to surpress a cold caught up to me.
I fell asleep fully clothed on my made up bed at 9:30, woke up at 2 to put on PJs and slept until 9 this morning.
Can you be hungover without drinking?
I was hungry fro breakfast but not everything was looking so good. I wanted oats and cold cereal. I though it would be a good day to try the Fitnessista's breakfast cookie dough!
I mixed
1/3 cup oats
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 big spoon cashew butter
a few splashes of skim milk
1/2 a banana
truvia
cinnamon
vanilla almond granola for crunch
I ended up drowning it in milk for more coldness. This is GENUIS, will definitely be added to me rotation!
I always eat at my desk, this morning I ate here (Cinnamon is reading your blogs). I should eat here on more Sundays =).
Peace!
Caitlin
How did you sleep last night?
What is sleeping in for you? I never sleep past 8, this is a big deal!
I literally just realized I put it was Friday on my post... it's Saturday Caitlin.
I did warn you I was tired =)
